Graduate Association of School Psychologists
GASP is the Graduate Association of School Psychology, and its purpose is to facilitate professional development and fellowship for graduate students in school psychology. GASP strives to pursue community outreach programs specifically related to school psychology and to encourage academic excellence. Baylor currently has GASP programs on both the Dallas and Waco campus, and together they collaborate and work to achieve these goals. GASP holds meetings once a month and participates in at least one community service and one professional development event once a semester. Both EdS and PhD students participate!
Opportunities to join GASP typically occur at the beginning of the academic year. During this opportunity, students can gain information on the purpose, initiatives, and resources associated with GASP membership as well as ask any additional questions.

Activities
Student members of GASP participate in a myriad of activities from professional development to community service and social events.
For example, Dallas GASP students invited Dr. Charles Barrett — school psychologist, book author, and a nationally recognized expert in the field for his efforts in social justice and advocacy — to deliver a lecture and interact with Baylor students. In Waco, students have volunteered annually in the Treats-to-Trunk event, which provides a drive-through sensory-friendly trick-or-treat experience for children and their families in the special needs community.
GASP students also attend annual conferences for the Texas Association of School Psychologists (TASP) and the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), where some graduate students also give research presentations. Through conferences, students build community with their respective cohorts as well as meet Baylor alumni and school psychologists from across the country.
Both Dallas and Waco campuses regularly host social events designed to foster camaraderie among students. These opportunities significantly enrich the graduate school experience for our school psychology students. As a result, GASP students often feel a stronger sense of connection to their cohorts, their campuses, and the broader school psychology community.
